Nominations Query I

Nominations are clicking along well, but we need clarification about two pending nominations:

• Hunger Games Series - All Media Types
• Les Misérables - All Media Types

To the people who nominated these fandoms: We need you to specify whether you are nominating the books, or the films and/or theatrical performances based on them. We have neither accepted nor rejected these nominations at this point, so you may edit them, or you can leave a comment here with the specific media type you want and we will change your nomination.

I think I'm the one who nominated THG, and I picked that tag because most of my stuff is a bit of a smush of movies and books. If you want to go more specific, I'd have to check if I qualify for either the movies or the books alone, otherwise I'd have to delete it, or do you reject it, or how does that work? :)

Our main concern is making sure that people who offer to remix in a fandom are (reasonably) capable of remixing at least the minimum number of stories required for qualifying matches.

I haven't seen any of the films except the very first one. How much do they differ from the books and would it be reasonable to expect someone who has only read the books or only seen the movies to remix something based on the other media?

If there is enough overlap that anyone could remix stories based on either media, we can accept the "All Media Types" tag. Otherwise, we'll need to reject it or you'll need to modify your nomination to specify one or the other.

Hmm. I read the books and saw every movie but the last one (yet) and it's mostly... there's more in the books? Like they cut out characters for the movies, such as Madge. I hear there's a romance in the last movie that wasn't in the books. The major stuff should be the same, though.

And rejection it'd be, I don't think I'll have enough qualifying stories in either book or movie canon alone. :)
